Tina’s back in the news again!

121 Captions founder Tina Lannin was once again back in the news this week, this time winning a prestigious award right here in Northern Ireland.

Tina was honoured with the Inspirational Entrepreneur Award at the Local Women Magazine Inspirational Women of the Year Awards 2024!

This recognition highlights her incredible dedication, innovation, and leadership. Tina has once again set a remarkable example for aspiring entrepreneurs everywhere.

A history of excellence

This isn’t the first time Tina has been nominated for an award. In 2015 she was nominated for the Entrepreneur of Excellence at The National Diversity Awards. The ceremony celebrates some of the excellent and inspiring achievements of positive role models and community organisations from across the UK. The awards aim to recognise nominees in their respective fields of diversity including age, disability, gender, race, faith, religion and sexual orientation.

Spreading her story on TV

There was no time for a hangover the next morning as Tina had to go down to Dublin for a TV appearance!

In this interview on Ireland AM, hosted by Tommy Bowe and Muireann O’Connell on Virgin Media Television, Tina Lannin shares her inspiring story of overcoming hearing loss, navigating life through lip reading, and achieving remarkable success.

Despite the challenges, she pursued education, faced workplace biases, and ultimately transformed adversity into opportunity. Now, with cochlear implants, Tina continues to break barriers and inspire others in the deaf and hearing communities.
